Cheremancy, sometimes called Elementalism, is one of the six Arcane Arts, and focuses on utilizing precision, focus, and martial arts to channel the natural ambient currents of elemental energy known as Ley Lines, and shape these energies to useful effect. Cheremancers naturally find themselves gravitating towards one of the six primal elements; this element is known as their “resonance,” and the aspects associated with that element are often present and sometimes exaggerated in those who find themselves so aligned.
Mechanically, cheremancer powers are short martial art sequences known as “Kata” that utilize precise physical motion to channel a single specific effect seed from a given element. Each cheremancer starts with one element chosen as their resonance, and one Kata chosen from that element. Each element has three paths of Kata seeds, one associated with each combat skill grouping (ie Melee, Ranged, and Defense), though each path may not seem to function exactly as the associated skill group would suggest. Within each path, a succession of effect seeds are available. Some are basic and may be taken freely, but the majority have prerequisites, sometimes other seeds, sometimes specifics Tricks or Talents. Each seeds will have these prerequisites outline in their description.
